1. About these terms

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of The Driving Instructors website and platform at thedrivinginstructors.com. By using our platform you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

2. Our service

The Driving Instructors is an online marketplace that connects learner drivers (students) with self-employed DVSA-approved driving instructors (instructors). We facilitate bookings and payments but are not a party to the teaching contract between student and instructor.

3. Student terms

• You must be at least 17 years old to book driving lessons.
• You must hold a valid provisional driving licence before your first lesson.
• Booking deposits are charged at the time of booking. The deposit covers your first 2 hours of lessons.
• Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours before the scheduled lesson to receive a refund. Late cancellations may be charged in full.
• You agree to treat instructors with respect. Abusive behaviour may result in your account being suspended.
• You are responsible for providing accurate contact and location information.

4. Instructor terms

• Instructors must hold a valid DVSA Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) certificate at all times.
• Instructors must maintain valid business insurance covering tuition.
• Instructors are self-employed and are solely responsible for their tax obligations.
• Instructors must keep their profile information accurate and up to date.
• Instructors must honour confirmed bookings. Repeated cancellations may result in removal from the platform.
• Payment is released to instructors after the student confirms lesson delivery.
• The Driving Instructors reserves the right to suspend or remove any instructor who breaches these terms or whose conduct is deemed harmful to students or the platform's reputation.

5. Payments

All payments are processed securely by Stripe. By making a payment you agree to Stripe's terms of service. The Driving Instructors does not store card details. Funds are held until lesson delivery is confirmed, at which point they are released to the instructor minus our platform fee.

6. Reviews

Reviews may only be submitted by students who have completed a booking through our platform. Reviews must be honest and based on genuine experience. We reserve the right to remove reviews that are abusive, defamatory, or fraudulent.

7. Intellectual property

All content on this website — including text, graphics, logos, and software — is the property of The Driving Instructors or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

8. Limitation of liability

The Driving Instructors acts as an intermediary platform. We are not liable for the conduct of instructors or students, the quality of lessons, road traffic incidents, or any loss arising from use of the platform beyond the amount paid for the relevant booking. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
